Profile

Pentatonix, also known as PTX, is an American a cappella group from Arlington, Texas. The group comprises five members, including vocalists Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee.
Pentatonix rose to fame in 2011 after winning the third season of the TV singing competition show “The Sing-Off” on NBC. Since then, the group has gained a large following and has released multiple albums, including their debut album “PTX, Volume 1” in 2012, which reached number 14 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Pentatonix is known for its unique style of a cappella music, which involves singing without any instrumental accompaniment. The group’s repertoire includes cover songs and original music, often incorporating beatboxing and vocal percussion into their performances.
In addition to their music career, Pentatonix has made several appearances on television shows and movies, including a cameo in “Pitch Perfect 2” and a guest spot on “Sesame Street.” They have won multiple Grammy Awards and other accolades for their music and performances.
