The French automobile manufacturer, Renault Group, has taken a significant step in its digital transformation journey by launching the first industrial Metaverse. 

This innovative platform is designed to increase the efficiency of Renault Group’s industrial operations. Also, the supply chain while reducing costs and carbon footprint. 

With its four key dimensions, the company expects Industrial Metaverse to generate savings of €320 million and €260 million in inventory savings by 2025.

To market the data collection and standardisation solution under the ID@Scale project to other industrial players. The Industrial Metaverse platform leverages digital technology to control real-time operations within Renault Group’s factories and supply chain.

The platform collects massive data, creates digital twins of physical assets, and connects the supply chain ecosystem. It also integrates advanced technologies to deliver a complete, persistent, and real-time representation of the physical world.

The primary purpose of the Industrial Metaverse campaign was to increase the efficiency of Renault Group’s industrial operations and supply chain while reducing costs and carbon footprint.

The industrial Metaverse is a significant departure from Renault Group’s previous campaigns. As it is the first time the company is leveraging advanced digital technologies to control its industrial operations and supply chain in real-time.

How Did the Campaign Perform?

According to Renault Group, the Industrial Metaverse has already delivered impressive results. The platform connects 100% of Renault Group’s production lines, and 90% of its supply flows are continuously monitored. 

By 2025, Renault Group expect the platform to generate savings of €320 million and €260 million in inventory savings. Reduce vehicle delivery time by 60%, and contribute to a 50% reduction in the carbon footprint of vehicle manufacturing. At the same time 60% reduction in warranty costs.

Overall, the launch of the Industrial Metaverse represents a significant step towards Renault Group’s commitment to becoming a net zero carbon company by 2025, 2030, and 2050.
